MARC Entry pass information

Swimmers in the Sprinters, Open, Competition, Performance and Masters Squads require an entry pass to access the Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC).

Entry passes allow swimmers to enter the aquatic facilities at class times and also after 4pm everyday (Monday to Sunday).

To apply for an entry pass, swimmers need to be a member of Tateswim’s partner, M1 Swimming Club. New swimmers also need to create a membership account with the MARC. Please refer to the steps below for how to apply.

How to apply for an entry pass

Step 1 - Join M1 Swimming Club (ignore this step if you are already a member)

  • Go to Swim Central

  • Register for an account - must be 18yrs and over (instructions)

  • Create a family group if more than one person joining (instructions)

  • Create a profile for each child under 18 joining, where applicable (instructions)

  • Purchase an M1 Swimming Club membership for each person*, including the parent if swimmer aged under 18 (instructions)

* Sprinters, Competition and Performance Squad swimmers must purchase a Competitive Swimmer membership. Open and Masters Squad swimmers may purchase a Social or Competitive Swimmer membership. Parents require a Dry membership.

Step 2 - Create an account with the MARC (this step is not required if you have previously had a MARC entry pass)

  • Go to the Active Monash Client Portal

  • Select ‘Let’s get started’

  • Choose Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre as home club location

  • Select ‘Create free account’, then ‘Next’

  • With ‘Memberships’ selected, select ‘Create free account’, then ‘Next’

  • Fill in the swimmer’s details, emergency contact details, create a password and agree to terms and conditions

  • Select ‘Create account’

Step 3 - Notify Tateswim
Please notify Tateswim when both steps 1 and 2 have been completed so we can advise the MARC to prepare your entry pass.

Step 4 - Pick up the entry pass from the MARC
The MARC will contact you to let you know your entry pass is ready for collecting at the MARC reception. When picking up the entry pass, a photo of the swimmer will be taken.

 

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my existing entry pass? (existing swimmers)

Yes, you can continue using your existing entry pass. For it be valid, you need to be an M1 member.

How much does it cost to join M1?
The 2023-24 Season membership fees are:

Competitive member/swimmer - $176
Social member - $21
Parent/dry member - $15

Why is it necessary to join M1?

At the MARC, Tateswim works in partnership with M1, managing the program and the coaching. M1 has a hire agreement with Active Monash and one of the requirements set by Active Monash is that swimmers need to be an M1 member to have a valid entry pass. Swimmers who choose not to join M1 will be required to pay pool entry.

Should I join as a social or competitive member?

Swimmers in the Sprinters, Competition and Performance Squads are required to join as a competitive member as these squads are part of our Competitive Program.

Swimmers in the Open Squad may join as a social or competitive swimmer.

Swimmers in the Masters squad are advised to join as a social member.

Why does a parent need to join if the swimmer is under 18?

It is a requirement for all swimming clubs in Victoria that a parent/guardian join if the swimmer is aged under 18.

Can I enter the pool outside of class times?

Yes. Swimmers can enjoy the aquatic areas from 4pm until close everyday (Monday to Sunday) and some mornings when classes are held.

If swimmers have a class on, they are expected to be in their class and not swimming in the public lanes during their class time.

What happens to my entry pass when I cancel my squad enrolment?

When a swimmer discontinues their enrolment, their entry pass will be cancelled.
