Tateswim Squad Program @ Oakleigh

From November to March, Tateswim conducts a Squad Swimming Program at the Oakleigh Recreation Centre (ORC).  The centre is located in Park Road, Oakleigh, adjacent to the Oakleigh Golf Course (and about 1km east of Chadstone Shopping Centre). Tateswim has access to great training facilities at the centre including the 50m heated outdoor pool, diving pool, gym and basketball courts.

Program Information

Who can enrol?

Our summer program at Oakleigh Recreation Centre (ORC) is suitable for children and teenagers aged approximately 7-­17 years. To enrol, swimmers must be able to swim at least 25 metres of freestyle or backstroke.

Class times:

Monday 4.30-­5.30pm

Wednesday 4.30-­5.30pm

Program dates (2011/2012):

Starts: February 1 2012 Ends: March 29, 2012 (The ORC pool closes during winter). 

Swimmers wishing to continue swimming from April to October will have the option to join our program at the Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre in Glen Waverley.

Monthly fee:

Full membership (2 classes per week for 4 weeks): $160

Half membership (1 class per week for 4 weeks): $90

Payment method:

The monthly fee is debited from your nominated credit card or savings account on the first business day of February and March. A transaction charge of 2.2% applies if paying by credit card. Alternatively, payment for the complete program may be made upfront in cash.

Pool entry:

Participants will receive an entry pass to the ORC that permits entry for swimmers and spectators.

Spectators:

Tateswim requires that spectators sit on the café side of the pool and must not distract coaches or students during class time.

Equipment required:

Swimmers are required to bring goggles, flippers and a kick board to each class.

To get started, please call 0415 125 823 or email info@tateswim.com.au to arrange an assessment.

Regular assessments take place at the ORC on Monday and Wednesday nights at 4.15-­4.30pm – please talk to a Tateswim representative if you would like your child to try out.

Once assessed, please return the attached enrolment and direct debit forms to Tateswim.

Program Features

New Generation Classes

Tateswim believes in keeping swimming fresh and exciting, so we have created a program consisting of a great range of specialty classes to complement the traditional training. With many different styles ranging from Surf-swim to Team-swim, there is something for everyone. Click here to check out all the classes.

Dry-Land Training

Swimmers will have an opportunity to take part in exercises and activities to enhance their swimming and general conditioning. 

Timetrials

Junior swimmers have the option to attend our Time Trial evenings held throughout the year. The time trials provide swimmers with a friendly environment to practice racing skills, meet new friends and challenge themselves.  See events page for upcoming Timetrials.

Competitive Swimming

Swimmers will have the option to start exploring the world of competitive swimming. Swimmers who want to compete will need to join our club, the M1 Swimming Club. Once you are a club member you can start entering competitions as selected and attended by the Tateswim coaches.  Click here for more information.

Events & Activities

Throughout the year swimmers will have the opportunity to take part in various social events. This may include swimming camps, movie days, lunches and other fun activities.  Click here for events.
