Tateswim believes in keeping swimming fresh and exciting, so we have created a great range of specialty classes to complement traditional training.
Check out our latest new gen classes below.
If you like moving fast, you will like SprintSwim! This class is all about intensity, power and speed. Swimmers will be performing sprints over distances of up to 100m.
Want to develop your mental and physical endurance? MegaSwim is for you! Swimmers will improve their stamina in this class, swimming distances like 800m, 1500m and beyond.
Why should dolphins have all the fun? Using flippers, swimmers can practice unique skills and appreciate a sense of power and speed (like the dolphins!). It’s also a great workout for developing strong core functioning and lower body strength.
Ready for a challenge? Swimmers will have the opportunity to test themselves in our ChallengeSwim classes. Swimmers will periodically perform test sets to check their progress and provide targets for them to aim for.
This cross-training session mixes up land and water based exercises. Classes consist of a combination of activities such as swimming, running, spinning/cycling, push-ups, sit-ups and various other exercises.
Get a taste of the beach (with out the salt!). Activities can include: paddling on a board, learning about safety and survival and training for open water swimming.
This class has a creative edge. Borrowing from elements of synchronized swimming and dancing, swimmers will learn to choreograph an aquatic formation. Swim-in-synch classes improve the swimmer’s ability to scull, maneuver their bodies, control breathing and develop an awareness of space and timing. Music will be incorporated into some classes.
Swimming can be quite a spiritual, cleansing, relaxing and therapeutic experience. This class is all about letting swimmers wind down and relax in the water. Active recovery from the stresses of training and everyday living is important for everyone’s health and wellbeing – so enjoy the serenity of ChillSwim!
Swimming can be a team sport too! Our TeamSwim classes are all about getting our swimmers to work together as a team. Swimmers are typically placed into teams or houses to perform relays and activities.
This class could be anything – and you won’t know what it is until the coach tells you!
MindZone classes provide an opportunity for our swimmers to come together out of the water and work on areas such as goal setting, leadership, managing a balanced lifestyle and maintaining good nutrition. MindZone classes also provide an opportunity for swimmers to get to know one another and strengthen each swimmer’s sense of identity, belongingness and connection to a community.
Swimmers will practice the skills required to play waterpolo and will be placed in teams to play a game.
