Missed class policy

Tateswim tries to achieve a fair balance between maintaining suitable class sizes and offering some flexibility in instances when swimmers have been absent.

Please check below to see what the options are for each squad level when a class or classes have been missed.

Missed class policy

Extended absence (4 weeks+)

In the case of an extended planned absence of 4 weeks or more, please email info@tateswim.com.au to arrange to have fees placed on hold for the given period.  This must be done no later than 14 days prior to the period of absence.

Absence (2-4 weeks) 

In the event a swimmer is absent for 2-4 consecutive weeks, a squad fee adjustment form can be submitted to Tateswim and fees will be partially credited for the period of absence.  This form may be submitted only if no application has been made in the last 6 months, and must be submitted within 14 days of the absence.

Minor absence (under 2 weeks)

If a swimmer is absent for less than two weeks, the policy is as follows for each squad:

Little Tates - Make up classes are not available for Little Tates.  We have this rule in place to ensure that the class size and student teacher ratio is not interupted.

Junior 3 - J3 swimmers who miss their regular class may attend any of the following J3 class times to do a make up class (these specific classes are selected due to space availability):

  • Tuesday 4.30-5.30pm (outdoor pool)
  • Tuesday 7.00-8.00pm (indoor pool)
  • Thursday 4.30-5.30pm (outdoor pool)
  • Friday 7.00-8.00pm (indoor pool)
  • Sunday 5.30-6.30pm (indoor pool)

Junior 2 J2 swimmers who miss their regular class may attend any other Junior 2 class (excluding Friday nights). 

All other squadsSwimmers may attend any of the training times for their squad as outlined in the training calendar.
